I purchased a pair of Aravon shoes that were extra wide. The foot box was wide enough, and the sole is comfortable. I unfortunately have had to take them to a shoe repair to have the straps lengthened. Wide feet usually have a higher arch and also there can be some swelling. The repairman said that he has had a lot of new shoes coming in and having to add 1-1/2" to 2" or more to the straps just for the above reasons. Plus it is difficult at times to match the color and patterns of the leather. It is only common sense that a extra wide foot cannot fit into a shoe that has straps meant for medium to narrow sizes. This is the second time I have paid out $60.00 to have a few inches to cover the Velcro. My other pair was by Naturalizer. It is most unfortunate that shoe companies do not do more research on their products, as there is a great number of people who could be better served.
